Level up your Meditation practice (TOP 5)
Meditation can be tricky at the best of times with our crazy busy lives getting in the way everyday. Being able to manage those distractions easily is a whole job in and of itself sometimes.
That said, having a space that is dedicated to meditation and a space that’s comfortable can not only help you get into your meditation easier but it will also help you to feel so much more relaxed. The added bonus is that by creating a space just for your meditation, it’s likely to be beautiful, cosy and comforting. Win-win all round I say!
So here are my recommendation for creating a beautiful meditation space.
1. A warm comforting blanket
I’m particularly liking this Halfmoon Yoga Blanket. Handwoven, cotton and can be used for both yoga and meditation. Super handy to have around.
I always find that when using a blanket of some kind my meditations are much less rushed. Although there is always a risk you might fall asleep if you get a bit too comfy. But that’s ok if you do, just accept that you need that time to rest.
But regardless, the one thing I always have with me is my meditation blanket. An absolute essential in my books.
2. A comfortable cushion
Yes there’s a theme here! Comfort. Because really in order to get our minds into a relaxed state our bodies need to be relaxed first. So it’s important to get comfortable before even beginning a meditation so you arent distracted by simple things that could avoided… like sitting uncomfortably!

3. Cleansing your space
Another great tool before meditating is preparing your space for your practice. A wonderful way to do this, is through using herbs like sage or my personal favorite is olive leaves.
But if you can’t get sage or olive leaves there are now wonderful organic, soy candles that can also do the trick in creating not only the cleansing environment for your meditation but also create a wonderful scent in the space you’ll be practicing in.
I am absolutely OBSESSED with these gorgeous Sage candles! Just make sure that you light them before meditation, and if you are prone to sleep, blow them out before you start meditating; just to be safe.
4. Meditation Bowl
Sound is just as important as smell in meditation. Whilst you can use digital devices to time your meditation, there is something special about having an actual bell start and end your meditation.
I have a bell I picked up from the Big Buddha in Thailand but I also have a bowl. One like this beautiful handcrafted one from Tibetan!
5. Crystal Water Bottle
The instant I saw these crystal water bottles were on sale I had to have one. I spent a long time debating whether it was something I actually needed. But when I finally bit the bullet and bought one I never looked back.
These crystal water bottle’s are fantastic if you want to charge your water before meditation. It wasn’t even something I had considered before, but think about it it’s completely logical.
Just fill your water bottle with fresh water and then either, set your intention verbally or on a piece of paper and set it under the bottle.
Then you can either focus on the water whilst in meditation, or simply leave it for about 10 minutes before drinking.
I’ll do a whole post about this seperately. But needless to say there are some interesting studies about the power and energy of crystals and water. I would definitely recommend getting one of these if you are considering deepening your manifestation/mediation practice!
This particular bottle is a bit of a powerhouse with a host of energetic crystals to charge your water.
I hope you have found these recommendations useful! What would you recommend in your list of top 5’s?
