Mindful March – Day 6 – Eat mindfully, truly appreciate your food
Published Wednesday, Mar 06

#MindfulMarch Welcome to Day 6

On Day 4 we took the time to truly be present with our coffee or tea. Today we’re going to use that same approach but with our food.  How often have you actually taken the time to truly sit down and enjoy a meal?

In today’s fast-paced world, it’s so easy to just grab something on the go, or even eat whilst doing something else like watching tv and texting. But today, try something a little different!

Switch off the distractions, and be present with your food, take the time to treat it with the reverence it deserves.  Food serves so many purposes for us, as well fuel, it’s used as a treat to mark social events so there’s plenty of opportunities to take a moment to really enjoy it whatever you’re eating.

Take the time today to appreciate:

  • the taste
  • the texture
  • the aroma
  • how it makes you feel

Just enjoy it.
